Common ELLA Terms

Style Session

This refers to the 60-minute style session (pre-scheduled with you) we’ll have before your photography session in order to review and choose your outfits. This is held in McKinney at the private home of our stylist. (Scheduled no less than 2-weeks before your photo session to allow us to order clothing).

Photography Session

This refers to the 3-hour photo session where we will glam you up and take your gorgeous photos! Please allow for the entire 3 hours. No kids; please and thank you.

What’s included in my photo session?

WARDROBE

  • ELLA Inspires will furnish all wearing apparel for use in connection with photography session. A mandatory style session with our wardrobe crew is booked before photo session. Note: you are not obliged in any way to purchase any garments worn for your session.

  • You may use your own clothes but we must pre-approve wardrobe choices.

HAIRSTYLE 

  • Hair Styling is provided by our ELLA #beautysquad hair stylist. Her recommendation is to arrive to your session with lightly damp and freshly washed hair ready for blow out/styling. 

MAKEUP

  • Makeup application and style before your shoot will be provided by our ELLA #beautysquad makeup artist!

  • Bring your own foundation and moisturizer to photo shoot

 

What is not included in the photo session?

It is not uncommon for ladies to seek out a nail tech or hair colorist of their own choosing to provide a supporting beauty service PRIOR to the photo session such as manicure, pedicure, blowout on a hair weave/sew-in, or getting a color treatment. Please understand while you are free to seek out beauty-related services (prior to your session) to help you look your best, doing so is your choice and not the financial responsibility of ELLA Inspires Magazine. 

Writing the Article

The purpose of ELLA Inspires magazine is to elevate and uplift other women in business who may be going through similar trials and triumphs. Everything you write will serve to help or encourage. The article also helps you to connect with your audience on a real and personal level. In an ever competitive professional landscape, this is your golden opportunity to tell your audience why you’re better than your competition. Your personal brand sells for you without you having to ask for a single sale, that’s what we’re after here!

A web link has been provided at the bottom of this page to help you build and submit your article! It is very important that your final thoughts be submitted to ELLA no later than the night before your photo session. 


How much do I need to write?

  • Write at least 1-page per question (double-spaced, size 10 font) OR

  • Your total content must be a minimum of 10-pages (double-spaced, size 12 font); which means some questions would be less than a page and others longer. 

When is it due?

It must be submitted to me BEFORE we meet for your photo session (not style session).

* NOTE: Submitting your content incomplete or late will result in your article not being published at all. It is imperative that you take the appropriate time to submit your story on time! *

What If I have something specific I want to write/discuss?

You’re completely welcome to talk about whatever topic you think other women will find beneficial. There will be a section at the bottom of the form (Section 5) where you are welcome to free-write. Just be sure to write in the corresponding “question/answer” format that the rest of the article will follow. Again, whatever you write about, just please make sure you turn in at least 10-pages of total content.

 

Social Media: Sharing Is Caring

The success of your particular issue is IN YOUR HANDS! We strongly recommend you re-share, re-share, re-share the content that ELLA Inspires puts out on social media the 15 days following your launch. Take full advantage of the fact that our social media accounts will be all about you, for 15 days! Share everything, seriously.

How do I share the magazine on my social media accounts?

There are two approved ways to share:

  1. Simply re-share the content you see on Instagram and Facebook on ELLA Inspires OR,

  2. With watermarked post graphics of your photos provided to you
