We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Business Development Associate Intern to join our dynamic ad sales team. This role focuses on supporting ad sales initiatives, engaging with potential advertisers, and contributing to the growth of our advertising revenue. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in media sales, luxury branding, and strategic communications. 

 
 

about the role

Prospecting and Lead Generation:

  • Identify and research potential advertising partners aligned with ELLA Inspires Magazine's brand values and audience.

  • Utilize platforms like LinkedIn, Apollo.io, and Instagram to generate leads.

  • Maintain and update a pipeline of potential clients using CRM tools.

Outreach and Engagement:

  • Assist in crafting compelling outreach emails and tailored to prospective clients.

  • Engage with prospective clients through initial contact, demonstrating an understanding of their needs and how ELLA Inspires Magazine can add value.

  • Support in scheduling and preparing for client meetings and presentations.

Sales Support:

  • Collaborate with the sales team to develop customized advertising packages that meet client objectives.

Relationship Building:

  • Foster relationships with existing and potential advertisers by providing excellent customer service and follow-up.

Qualifications:

  • Strong interest in media sales, luxury brands, and advertising.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Self-motivated with a keen ability to manage time and prioritize tasks.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and familiar with CRM platforms is a plus.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and take initiative.

Responsibilities

  • First step triage calls

  • Direct message or email all leads and applicants that are interested in our programs

  • Outbound outreach and nurture engaged leads in our Facebook group/Instagram page

  • Message engaged IG followers who watch and interact with stories and posts

  •  Check in with and re-engage leads every 2-3 days

  • Keep detailed notes on warm leads in our lead dashboard system

  • Report on any trends you are noticing in responses that could inform our marketing or messaging

  • Answer all questions about the programs and overcome objections via phone, email, and direct social messages

  • Use both voice memos and text based messaging to communicate with engaged leads

  • Have conversations, learn about our customers, and leave them with an amazing experience so they feel seen, heard and understood.

  • Track all metrics on leads, outreach, inbound, sales and conversion rates and report to the team daily. (We will show you how to do this)

  • Build out a library of reusable responses to common questions and objections

  • Filter out prospects who are not a fit and kindly let them know

  • Maintain an intimate knowledge of current warm leads, where they are in the funnel, and their situations

  • Know our services inside and out and be able to answer any question about what’s included, what the outcomes are, what the bonuses are, the support that’s included, etc.

  • Know our proven results inside and out and be able to share relevant case studies and testimonials as they relate to each lead you are speaking to

  • Keep a log of all objections you encounter and your responses to build up our objection response library

  • Become an expert in our lead management tech and software so you can navigate our systems easily.

Required Benchmarks: Prospect 800-1000 Leads per month; 40 Minimum booked calls
